I planted this fig tree exactly during the solar eclipse last week, because I figured there was no better time to have my hands embedded into the earth then when the sun and moon are in perfect alignment.
It feels so natural and intuitive to have my hands in dirt. I return to my gardens almost every weekend for my weekly dose of enlightenment. And when it comes to gardening, people will often ask me:
ā How do you know which ones are the weeds?āĀ
And my reply is always the sameā¦
“If itās not adding to the beauty of your garden, then pull it.”
Because the truth is, weeds are different for everyone. One personās weed can be another personās most beloved flower.
And THIS is the beauty of life, my friends. It is YOUR garden, and you get to decide what stays and what gets yanked. THERE IS NO RIGHT OR WRONG. If you notice something in your garden that you do not particularly like, pull it. ESPECIALLY if itās crowding, strangling, or stealing nutrients for something that you DO like, then it definitely needs to go.
But also, if you notice that a particular weed continues to return, despite how many times you pull it, then perhaps you are feeding it without realizing it, and you may need to ask yourself ..WHY?
Do NOT be afraid to let your garden grow. Let it be wild, let it be messy, let it be unkempt.
Only YOU get to decide what can remain in your beautifully, overgrown, chaotic garden of a life.
Until next time my loves…..
